Our research covers the interaction between hormones and metabolism. We study how the release of hormones in the bloodstream and explore their effect on body cells and a variety of biological processes. In this way, we gain insights into the control of hormonal systems in the human body and the associated diseases on a molecular, biochemical and clinical levels. We are particularly interested in developing new, individualized strategies for diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases. In addition, we participate in international networks dealing with the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors and furthermore investigate the complex interactions between the intestine and bones.

Current research projects
